Title: Sequence Investigation
Learning Objectives
Level 5
To be able to explain the rules that describe any linear sequence.
Can you compare a linear sequence to a times table?
Level 6
To be able to demonstrate how to generate a sequence using a nth term formula and match a formula to any linear sequence.
Do you know the nth term formula of the times tables?

Resources
In the following lessons we will be investigating sequences by considering how many sides of a cube are painted if you dip it in a pot of paint. For one cube the answer is easy, but what about two cubes connected together?

Once you have got to grips with a single line of cubes, have a go with these patterns.
