Knowledge Harvest Activities
Put a list of all of the topics we will cover this quarter on the board. 

Ask students to work in groups to design a poster that shows:

- anything they currently know about these topics;
- what each of these topic is used for in the real world;

  • anything the topics have in common;
  • they might need to use their iPads to research.
Review the outcomes as a class, sharing ideas and adding comments.

The government is now only issuing 3p and 5p coins (nothing else).
Is this a problem.
Can we make all numbers using only these coins (you can be given change).
