Resources

Dear All

I am not in school this afternoon (I am taking a group of Year 10 to a maths competition in Truro).

Your work for today is below. There are two challenges, the last challenge requires you to put together a presentation explaining the details of your trip.

Your presentation should be completed for homework and uploaded to Shoebie before next lesson.

Mr Kent

Challenge 1
CIMT Mileage Charts

Take a screen print of your scorecard (at the bottom of the page) aim for a score of at least 80%.

Challenge 2
Your task is to plan a trip from Mounts Bay Academy to the top of the London Eye. You must only use the following forms of public transport to make your journey:

- Bus
- Train
- Walk (no more than 3 miles in an one go)
- Plane

There are a few rules:
- You can only use scheduled transport ieyou cannot hire a plane and fly direct.
- You must use each form of transport at some point.
- You need to keep a record of how much the trip costs.
- The main task is to make sure all the different parts of the trip fit together iethere is no point in getting to the airport after the plane has taken off!
- Assume you are travelling as two adults
- DO NOT BOOK ANYTHING or put your personal data onto any websites!!

Presenting your work
You will present your solution to this challenge as a Keynote presentation. Points will be awarded for:
- Journeys that correctly get you to the destination.
- The quickest journey
- The cheapest journey
- Neat presentation
- Most exciting or interesting route.
- Include pictures and details of the places you visit on route.
- You will need to stay somewhere overnight - include details of where you would stay.
