Title: Coffee Shop
Room 28
Learning Objectives
Level 3-6
To understand how we can apply mathematical skills in a real-life situation.
What do you need to know to set up a business?

Resources

You’re a catering company about to open a coffee shop – you need to come up with a name and theme and plan an exciting launch event.

You’ll form a team and find out if you have the leadership skills to be a dynamic Project Manager, or the flair to be a creative Catering Consultant or Marketing Executive.

The coffee shop is already set up with furniture, kitchen equipment and crockery. All you have to do now is attract customers. Your brief is to work as a team to plan a really great launch event to attract as many new customers as possible.

You are working towards making a presentation that will convince your financial backers that your launch event will be successful and within budget. You have a budget of £1000 to spend on your launch event, including £500 for marketing and promotion. Part of your final presentation could be some PowerPoint slides that give a good flavour of your plan of action for your launch event.
